Data Capture Capabilities: No Drugs Down the Drain


Objective:
The City of Riverside asked ABI to help educate its residents on the importance of not putting drugs down the drains, and giving them alternate methods.

Strategy:
Strategy: ABI designed and mailed 120,000 postcards to the residents, each with a unique pin‐codes, to access their choice of a gift. Residents learned about the program on the oversized postcard, and also online, on the custom branded survey page, that asked the residents to give their contact information and some baseline pre‐campaign survey questions. During the campaign period, our street team visited the local pharmacies, and supplied them with complimenting materials: a counter mat, a toilet‐shaped pen and pop‐up post‐its, all to reinforce the message with the residents. During the campaign, we sent out an email blast to the participants, thanking them and inviting them to anevent. We also send a final email, with a Digital Download Code, asking them for their final feedback to evaluate the success of the program.

Result:
The No Drugs Down the Drain Campaign was an overwhelming success, with over a 10% response rate, and positive feedback from residents and pharmacists that felt supported and listened to.
